Artificial fascial sling or patch comprising: a polylayer of collagen-secreting cells derived from a cultured cell population on a biocompatible substrate; and a polylayer of elastin-secreting cells derived from a second population of cells cultured on the polylayer of the population of collagen-secreting cells, so that cells of the two different populations form a chimeric interface.
