Novel derivatives of 1-deoxynojirimycin aredisclosed which have amino or azido substituents at C-2and/or C-3. These compounds are useful inhibitors oflentiviruses. Methods of chemical synthesis of thesederivatives and intermediates therefor are alsodisclosed.
