A system and method for providing improved teleservice messaging to a mobilestation in a wireless communication network are disclosed. In preferredembodiments,an indication is provided to a network sending entity of the maximumteleservice payloadsize that can be sent by the network sending entity to the mobile station vianetworkreceiving entities serving the mobile station. The payload size indication isutilized bythe network sending entity to format the size of teleservice messages sent bythe networksending entity to the mobile station via the network receiving entities.
