A VENTILATION SYSTEM FOR AN ENCLOSURE IN WHICH PEOPLE LIVE AND A METHOD THEREOF

A ventilation system is disclosed for an enclosure in which people live. Theventilation system comprises a first ducting means for ducting fresh air fromoutsideto inside the enclosure and a second ducting means for ducting state air. Thesecondducting means comprises a stale air inlet for receiving stale air containingcarbondioxide from inside the enclosure and an exhaust manifold having a first venttoexhaust air outside the enclosure and a second vent in fluid communicationwith thefirst ducting means to return clean air into the first ducting means. Theventilationsystem is further characterised in that it comprises catalysing means forcatalysinghydration of carbon dioxide contained in at least a portion of the stale airinto asolution of carbonate ions and hydrogen ions, and thereby removing carbondioxidefrom said portion of the state air and obtaining clean air. Evacuating meansare alsoprovided for evacuating the solution out of the ventilation system.
