An electrolyte membrane is for forming an electrode having a desired shapewith high quality and highly efficient productivity. Masking members (12 and13) having holes (12a and 13a) bored in a desired electrode shape are attachedto at least one side of an electrolyte membrane (11) for a fuel cell before anelectrode is applied to the electrolyte membrane, in a self-adhering fashionor through a slight adhesive.
