The invention relates to a method for compensating for disturbances in the straightline stability of a motor vehicle, which is equipped with an active chassis, a steering-wheel angle sensor, a driving speed sensor, and with a yaw sensor or with a transversal acceleration sensor. Once a predetermined driving speed limit is exceeded and/or a predetermined steering-wheel angle limit is fallen below of, the actual driving condition of the vehicle is determined, and when this actual driving condition differs from a set vehicle condition of the motor vehicle, the axles of the active chassis are braced in a crosswise manner.
