Herpes simplex virus US11 protein and HIPK2 protein complexes and uses thereof

The present invention relates to the inhibition of cellular apoptosis by the US11 protein from a herpes simplex virus, through binding of US11 to the apoptosis inducer HIPK2. The invention more particularly relates to a US11/HIPK2 complex and provides methods and compositions for the treatment of a herpes simplex virus infection.
