The present invention relates to methods for screening of cellular responsesof cellular components comprising:(a) providing cellular components on thesurface of a substrate, said substrate having immobilized thereon an array ofdetector molecules;(b) delivering test compounds to positions on the substratecorresponding to the arrayed detector molecules on the surface of said solidsubstrate;(c) incubating said test compounds with said cellular components onthe surface of the solid support, under conditions allowing the induction ofcellular responses;(d) assaying said cellular responses; and,identifying andcharacterizing the cellular responses induced by said test compounds. Thepresent invention further relates to the uses of said methods as well asmicroarrays and kits for carrying out said methods.
