A shielding plate (SP) (22) is set up to swivel on an axis (S) of rotation. For this purpose there is an electric motor (23) controlled by a control/evaluating unit. The SP has three segments (24-26). The first (24) and second (26) outer segments with a lead element are completely impervious to X-rays. A center segment (25) acts as a window in the SP for letting X-rays through. An independent claim is also included for a method for taking X-ray pictures.
