BAD SMELL INTERCEPTION DEVICE OF MANHOLE COVER, FOR KEEPING HYGIENIC, CLEAN, AND BEAUTIFUL SIGHT OF CITIES

PURPOSE: A bad smell interception device of a manhole cover is provided to make inflow of rainwater smooth, to prevent sewage from being exposed, and to intercept a bad smell, by installing an intercepting plate to the bottom of the manhole cover. CONSTITUTION: A bad smell interception device of a manhole cover(2) has an interception plate(8) having slant surfaces(4,6) slant downward to the sides. The interception plate is formed to the center of the bottom of the manhole cover. The width and length of the interception plate are larger than the width and length of a vent hole(10) of the manhole cover and are smaller than the edge of the manhole cover. The rake angle of the slant surfaces is maintained at 5 ¯ 15 degrees. The interception plate is combined to a support frame. The interception plate is welded to the center of the bottom of the manhole cover and the interception plate shuts off the vent hole of the manhole cover. Rainwater flows into a gap formed between an edge part(14) of the manhole cover and the interception plate.
