PURPOSE: A method for studying English by using a mobile communication terminal is provided to output an English word or an English sentence as an effect sound when a folder is open or closed, and to display explanations on the outputted English word or the sentence on a standby screen, thereby obtaining an English study effect. CONSTITUTION: When a folder is in closed state(101), a user opens the folder(102). A user confirms whether a folder opening/closing sound is set(103). If so, a controller confirms a set selected by the user among various English word or English sentence sets(104). The controller decides whether a preset repetition period elapses(105). If so, the controller randomly or sequentially selects one English word or a sentence(106), and stores the selected word or the sentence(108). The controller displays detailed explanations on the word or the sentence on a standby screen(109). If a key is inputted while outputting the selected word or the sentence(110), the controller stops outputting the word or the sentence, and outputs a screen and a sound corresponding to the key(111).
