PURPOSE: An electrochemical hydrogen sensor for managing an aluminum molten metal using a solid reference material is provided to achieve safety of measurement by simplifying a structure of measurement equipment. CONSTITUTION: An electrochemical hydrogen sensor includes a hydrogen ion conductor(1), a reference electrode(2), a solid reference material(4), and a measurement electrode(3). The solid reference material(4) is protected by means of a ceramic cover(5). The reference electrode(2) and the measurement electrode(3) are connected to the solid reference material(4) by means of a platinum wire(6). The solid reference material(4) includes a material having Ti, TiH2 or TiO or a material having Ca, CaH2, or CaO. A hydrogen sensor device is positioned in a ceramic protective tube.
