The method involves computing path weight for the data signal transmitted over the regulated data channel using channel estimated results on the basis of a common pilot channel. Computing a correction factor on the basis of a referred estimated value where the common pilot symbols as a function of the relative velocity of a mobile station in relation to a base station. An uncorrected path weight is corrected by multiplication with the correction factor. An independent claim is included for a device for the computation of a data channel regulated by path weights.
