The climbing wall has at least 2 separate climbing wall plates (1,2), the upper climbing wall plate supported by the wall (3) of the sports hall and the lower climbing wall plate suspended vertically below it. A U-shaped frame (4) has 2 vertical sections (41,42) and at least one horizontal section (43) defining a space (44) which is open at the bottom for reception of a vertically displaced carriage (7), to which the lower climbing plate is attached.
