The carrier for articles on a hanging conveyor has rollers (20, 22) which roll along the sides of a rail (14) with an inverted V-shape. A hanger (32, 40) for the articles is mounted on a shaft (34) whose axis (34') passes through the drive coupling system (30) and is at right angles to the rail.
