An acoustic component comprises a frequency-selective loudspeaker unit and an amplification of audio signals. Preferably the component can be connected to audio or video apparatus and be either within these or in a separate housing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an operating process for the frequency selective converter; and (b) a circuit for the frequency selective converter.
