The system to control the charging pressure, for an internal combustion motor with an exhaust gas turbocharger, has a bypass valve (16) integrated in the bypass channel (14), operated by a setting motor(18). A piston (20) is the setting unit, sliding in a cylinder housing (24), with the piston rod (22) attached to the valve. The piston has a return spring (26) and is constantly under atmospheric pressure on one side, with a controlled underpressure on the other side set by a pressure control valve (34).
