Medical laboratory diagnosis of inflammatory central nervous system disease, e.g. multiple sclerosis, involves nephelometric measurement of free lambda immunoglobin light chains in cerebrospinal liquor of patient
The method involves nephelometric measurement of free lambda immunoglobin light chains in cerebrospinal liquor of the patient. Free lambda immunoglobin light chains can be measured in the cerebrospinal liquor of the patient and also in the serum of the patient. The difference of these measurements can be used to diagnose the active phase of existing multiple sclerosis.
