Suction type turbocharger`s pressure regulating method for e.g. diesel engine, involves comparing mean amplitude and mean reference amplitude of air-column vibrations to obtain correction factor for reference charging pressure
The method involves calculating an initial mean value of air-column vibrations in a suction path of a turbocharger. A differential signal is generated from the initial mean value by a differentiator (2). The signal is rectified to find the mean amplitude of the vibrations. The mean amplitude of vibrations is compared with mean reference amplitude of vibrations to obtain a correction factor for a reference charging pressure. The mean reference amplitude of vibrations depends on the rotations of the internal combustion engine, quantity of injected fuel, atmospheric air pressure and temperature of the suction air.
