Cylinder head for a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine with gas change channels and a cooling agent space which partly at least surrounds the gas change channels. In the cylinder head the bracing elements (6,7) surrounding the cooling agent space are fused between the two neighbouring gas change channels. The bracing elements are made of material with greater strength than that of the cylinder head material surrounding the cooling agent, for example steel. Alternatively, the elements can be made of closed or lengthwise slotted tubing pieces.
