The four-sided boring tool (18) forms part of a boring and burrowing system (1) for emplacing water pipes and cable ducts under a roadway. The boring head is mounted on the end of a telescopic drive tube (4,20) inside a telescopic outer tube (14,15). A sleeve (23) prevents turning of the telescopic outer tube. There are a coupling muff (16) and a flange (32) at the base end of the boring system. There is a bell (7) at the base with a clamping disk (2).
