The device for generating cybernetic random events comprises input, output and processing units together with a processing unit and a random number generator. The device is programmed so that under normal operating conditions its follows a first control framework with which an operator is normally familiar. When the random number generator is queried and produces a particular result, the device switches from operating under the first control framework to operating under other control framework(s). An independent claim is included for a corresponding computer program for use with the inventive device.
