The system has multiple bicycles (1), each comprising a locking device and an electronic circuit. An interactive terminal (2) selectively authorizes borrowing of the bicycles in a storage area. The terminal controls the locking device of each bicycle through its communication interface (12) and a communication interface (13) of each bicycle. An electrical locking device (15) locks the locking device in a locking position.
