PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to prepare inexpensively and in a short period of time on a target compound color screen density setting technique relevant to the controlling of the color tone of the pattern of a printing machine and to control to a desired color tone with an IRGB densitometer. PSOLUTION: In order to control an other printing machine so as to reproduce the color tone of a pattern developed under the condition that the printed pattern of an object is printed with the reference printing machine with the other printing machine different from the reference printing machine, at the setting of the target compound color screen density of the other printing machine, a sensor device profile is formed with the IRGB densitometer, the detection characteristics of which coincide with those of the IRGB densitometer of the other printing machine, so as to form the platemaking data for the reference printing machine under the constitution that, on an attentional pixel region, the compound color screen density to dot area percent data is calculated so constituted as to set the resultant density to the target compound color screen density.
