PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide soft magnetic metal powder as the raw material for soft magnetic metal dust core used for an electronic component such as a motor, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a soft magnetic metal dust core using the soft magnetic metal powder.;SOLUTION: The soft magnetic metal powder for a soft magnetic metal dust core in which the surface of each particle is provided with an insulation layer, the average particle diameter is 3 to 50 μm, and the insulation layer is composed of a compound comprising silicon, magnesium and/or aluminum can be obtained by heating a suspension in which soft magnetic metal powder is dispersed, so as to hold its pH to 6 to 10, and adding an aqueous solution comprising silicon, magnesium and/or aluminum thereto, thus forming an insulation layer composed of a compound comprising silicon, magnesium and/or aluminum on the surface of each particle of the soft magnetic metal powder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
