PULL-IN METHOD FOR BLIND ADAPTIVE EQUALIZER AND BLIND ADAPTIVE EQUALIZER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten pull-in time without using a training signal (reference signal) in an adaptive equalizer.;SOLUTION: When the adaptive equalizer formed of combining a carrier recovery circuit (CR) 12 with a determination feedback equalizer (DFE) 16 performs the pull-in, the tap coefficient of the DFE is updated by means of a CMA Algorithm (Godard) without affecting the phase rotation of a carrier in a pull-in start step, and simultaneously a carrier recovery is staered by using phase error detection limiting the determination range of the carrier recovery circuit. After converging a carrier recovery and sufficiently reducing equalization error power, a pull-in completion step switches the above carrier recovery to a carrier recovery, using determination range-free phase error detection, and switches DFE tap replacement to the algorithm from the CMA with determination orientation (LMS).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
