PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous solution of a free allylamine polymer convenient for use owing to the halogen-free nature, a method for producing a free diallylamine polymer having excellent stability, and an aqueous solution of the polymer.;SOLUTION: The method for producing an aqueous solution of a free allylamine polymer comprises the desalting treatment of an aqueous solution of an allylamine acid-addition salt polymer while neutralizing the solution. The method for producing an aqueous solution of a free diallylamine polymer having a repeating unit expressed by general formula (II) (R is hydrogen atom or methyl group) comprises the polymerization of a diallylamine acid-addition salt in an aqueous medium in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator at a concentration of 5-35 mass% to obtain a diallylamine acid-addition salt polymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 400-4,500 and the desalting treatment of the polymer while neutralizing the aqueous solution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
