PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coloring aluminum alloy materials having different shapes with a consistent gray color regardless of difference between shapes even when coloring simultaneously in the same electrolytic solution through current recovery treatment, and even when subsequently coloring through electrolysis in an electrolytic coloring solution, and to provide an aluminum alloy material colored gray.;SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the aluminum alloy material comprises the steps of: extruding a billet of the aluminum alloy; ageing it at 215 to 250°C for 1 to 5 hours, or alternatively ageing it at 180 to 210°C for 1 to 8 hours and then ageing it at 215 to 250°C for 1 to 4 hours; then subjecting it to anodizing and subsequent current recovery treatment in the same electrolytic solution; and electrolytically coloring it in an electrolytic coloring solution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
