PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for easily predicting the life cycle of a commodity to be designed or sold even if there is no sales result data for the commodity.;SOLUTION: This device comprises a retrieval condition input means 2 inputting a commodity name of an object for which the life cycle is predicted and a count unit period for counting the number of articles in an article database 4 as retrieval conditions; an article number counting means 5 retrieving articles describing the designated commodity name from the article database 4, and storing the number of obtained articles in an article number table shown by 7 or 9 divisionally in the input count unit period; and a life cycle phase section calculation means 8 determining the time change of the number of articles of similar commodities stored in the period-based similar commodity article number table 7 based on a life cycle phase section determination table 6 to calculate a phase section of the life cycle, and storing it in a life cycle phase section table 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
