PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform transcription from played musical tone waveforms with good accuracy.;SOLUTION: The playing data waveforms which are played is supplied to an STF peak analysis section 10, where the time window successively shifted to musical tone waveform samples are opened and Fourier transform is carried out, by which the peak points in each of the frame time are detected. The played music data is standardized to MIDI in a MIDI standardization section 12 and is then converted to piano roll music by a piano roll music conversion section 13. The detected peak points and the piano roll music are contrasted in a comparison section 14, by which the loci of the peak points, obtained by tracing the peak points adaptive to the frequency positions of each pieces of the roll music in the piano roll music, are extracted.
