PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornithine N5-oxygenase protein participating in biosynthesis of a ferrichrome or its deferri-form of Aspergillus oryzae, a gene encoding the protein, a recombinant vector comprising the gene, a transformant comprising the recombinant vector, a recombinant Aspergillus oryzae comprising the gene, a method for breeding Aspergillus oryzae highly producing ferrichrome or its deferri-form by production of the ornithine N5-oxygenase protein using the transformant, and a method for increasing Aspergillus oryzae not producing ferrichrome or deferri-form by inhibiting expression of the protein in the Aspergillus oryzae cell.;SOLUTION: Cloning of a gene encoding ornithine N5-oxygenase protein participating in biosynthesis of the ferrichrome or its deferri-form of Aspergillus oryzae is carried out and a base sequence thereof is determined. It is confirmed that ornithine N5-oxygenase catalyzing a first stage of biosynthesis of the ferrichrome or its deferri-form is encoded in a gene fragment asb1 cloned by the present invention. Enhanced production or non-production of the ferrichrome or its deferri-form of Aspergillus oryzae under limitation of iron, modification of production of ferrichromes according to application in molecular level and application to various industrial fields are possible using this gene.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
