EVALUATION DEVICE AND EVALUATION METHOD ON JEWEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for clearly observing refracted/reflected light (scattered light) of a jewel (such as diamond) by a small-sized device and simply and efficiently evaluating the quality of the jewel, and an evaluation method.;SOLUTION: This evaluation device is equipped with a black box 1 with one end part thereof opening, a hold member 2 disposed in the black box for holding a diamond 3, and a semitransparent dome-shaped screen member 4 positioned between the hold member 2 and the opening part of the black box 1. A refraction/reflection pattern is projected from the diamond 3 onto the screen member 4 when illuminating the diamond 3 by a light source 6 on the opening part side of the black box 1 with beam-like white rays through a translucent part 5 formed on a top part of the screen member 4.
