PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an optical component from being broken during manufacturing and assembling because of its simple structure, to suppress return optical noise and obtain cost reduction and high performance.;SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion header is provided with a ferrule 1 to hold and position an optical waveguide 5 so that the optical input and output end of the optical waveguide projects from a component mounting surface, electric wiring 2 formed on the component mounting surface of the ferrule 1, and a plane type optical component 3 which is mounted to the component mounting surface of the ferrule 1 and electrically connected with electric wiring 2. The optical input and output end projecting from the component mounting surface of the ferrule 1 of the optical waveguide 5 is formed with an end face almost vertical to the optical waveguide direction of the optical waveguide 5, and the component mounting surface of the ferrule 1 is displaced by two degrees or more from a face vertical to the optical waveguide direction of the optical waveguide 5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
