PURPOSE: A microorganism Pediococcus pentosaceus CBT-8 producing antimicrobial materials inhibiting growth of Helicobacter pylori and Listeria monocytogenes, and a method for producing the same, as well as the use thereof are provided, thereby preventing and treating infection of Helicobacter pylori and Listeria monocytogenes. CONSTITUTION: A microorganism Pediococcus pentosaceus CBT-8(KCTC 10297BP) produces antimicrobial materials inhibiting growth of Helicobacter pylori and Listeria monocytogenes. A method for producing antimicrobial materials comprises the steps of: (a) preparing Pediococcus pentosaceus CBT-8(KCTC 10297BP); (b) mixing 3 to 5 wt.% of glucose, 0.5 to 1 wt.% of yeast extract, 1 to 1.5 wt.% of meat extract, 0.5 to 1 wt.% of protein hydrolysate, and 0.01 to 0.1 wt.% of one or more compound selected from ammonium citrate, sodium acetate, dipotassium phosphate, magnesium sulfate, manganese sulfate, and sodium chloride; (c) sterilizing the mixture; and (d) inoculating Pediococcus pentosaceus CBT-8(KCTC 10297BP) to the medium and anaerobically fermenting it.
