PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceptor drum surface potential decrease compensation method for an image forming apparatus, whereby a decrease in the surface potential due to wear of the photoreceptive layer of the photoreceptor drum in the image forming apparatus having an OPC photoreceptor drum and a corona electrifier, is compensated with a simple constitution.;SOLUTION: Supporting bodies are disposed at both ends of a corona electrifier so as to be touched with the photoreceptor drum. A distance between the corona wire of the corona electrifier and the photoreceptor drum is regulated. At least part of the supporting body is made of such a material that it wears depending on the use frequency of the photoreceptor drum, therefor a distance between the corona wire and the photoreceptor drum decreases. An electrified amount to the photoreceptor drum is increased by the decrease of the distance between the corona wire and the photoreceptor drum, which is caused by wear, so that the decrease of the surface potential of the photoreceptor drum is compensated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
