NETWORK SCALE ESTIMATING SYSTEM, METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the scale of participation nodes in a large scale network system, e.g. WWW or P2P network, even when an assumption "page sets (or node sets) captured by search engines (or measuring means) A and B are independent statistically" is not necessarily realized.;SOLUTION: Node information collectors A1, B2 and C3 acquire the information of nodes belonging to the same service network system 6 for each service group, and a constant α estimating section 4 estimates the statistical degree of independence α of duplication rate of measurement. Furthermore, the number N of participation nodes is estimated by utilizing that estimation result α and the information of nodes belonging to the service network system 6 acquired by the node information collectors A1, B2 and C3 thus estimating the scale of nodes while taking account of independence of measurement.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
