PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide feed for larvae of insects showing remarkable effect on making them giant. PSOLUTION: The feed for larvae of insects contains cartinine, a cartinine derivative or a mixture of the cartinine and the cartinine derivative. The cartinine derivative is represented by formula [1]. In formula [1], RSP1/SP-RSP3/SPis each a 1-6C alkyl group; RSP4/SPis a 2-31C fatty acyl group which may be substituted; RSP5/SPis a 1-31C alkyl group which may be substituted or a 2-31C alkenyl group which may be substituted; and XSP-/SPis an anion, on condition that a compound with RSP1/SP, RSP2/SPand RSP3/SPof methyl group, and RSP4/SPand RSP5/SPof hydrogen is excluded.
