PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively shape and stabilize the waveform of high-voltage pulse output, using a direct-current power supply, stabilize ion generation, and suppress production of ozone in a high-voltage generating circuit for ion generator and a high-voltage generating circuit both for an ion generator and for an igniter.;SOLUTION: The high-voltage generating circuit 10 uses a DC power supply 2 as drive source and is provided with an astable multivibrator MV and a pulse transformer T driven by its output pulse. A diode D1 is inserted into the primary-side coil N1 of the pulse transformer T in series and in the forward direction. As a result of insertion of this diode D1, the waveform of the high-voltage pulse, which appears in the secondary-side coil N2 of the pulse transformer T, is shaped so that it oscillates in positive and negative directions and is attenuated monotonically. For this reason, ion generation is stabilized, and the production of ozone is suppressed. As a result, the high-voltage generating circuit becomes suitable for ion generators.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
