PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of procedures for releasing a lock for shortening a contention restriction time in a contention control method between a plurality of applications.;SOLUTION: By this contention control method between a plurality of applications, contention restriction functions possessed by a plurality of applications, which are distributed between a plurality of devices connected mutually via a network, are prevented from being operated at the same time. Before operation of the contention restriction function, each of the application checks with lock management parts of each of the devices whether a lock is obtained in own device, reference to other devices about a lock condition is carried out, and the lock is successfully obtained in own device while all the other devices are not locked.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
