PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring the size of a plane shape or the change of a color such as the displacement or change of a dangerous slope such as a landslide, rock bed sudden fall, falling rock, falling, rock sliding, and the change of the shape and color of a wall image due to weathering. ;SOLUTION: Four or more targets 2 for control points are arranged in a measuring area 1, and one or more targets 3 for measurement are arranged in the measuring area 1 at the time of improving measuring precision. The measuring area is image picked-up by a solid image pickup device 4, and an image image-picked-up at first is stored in a memory 6 as a reference image. A measured image image-picked-up afterward is angle-converted so that the control point in the measured image can be made coincident with the control point in the reference image so that a corrected measured image can be prepared.
