The harvester has an uprooted beetroot treatment device (5) and a leaf and beet crown spreader (7). The device has a small open-work support to receive the beetroots from a pulling tool (4). The device has a large open-work support to receive the beetroots from two pulling tools (4). The small support is arranged such that the beetroots displaced by the rotation of the small support fall and/or are projected on the large support. An independent claim is also included for a method for harvesting beetroots.
