Railings comprising horizontal and vertical rails assembled in a single plane comprise at least one pair of horizontal rails at the same height or at least one vertical rail that lies outside the plane. An independent claim is also included for producing railings as above by assembling the rails at right angles to one another, joining (e.g. welding) the rails together, transporting the joined rails stacked on other railings, and bending the rails so that at least one horizontal or vertical rail is out of plane.
