A magnetic control device is used to lift the impact particles into a raised position inside the drum before they fall to the bottom. A device for carrying out a physical or chemical analysis of liquids, gases or particles comprises a rotary drum, macroscopic impact particles containing magnetic material which can tumble inside the drum, one or more sensors for detecting vibrations caused by the particles striking the bottom of the drum, a vibration spectrum analysis device and a control device with magnets for lifting the impact particles into a raised position inside the drum before they fall to the bottom.
