A method for obtaining images of an area of an object (1) that is placed behind a structure (3) of transmissive light, making use of illuminators (2, 4) which produce mirror reflections (21, 23) in the structure (3) of transmissive light, where at least an approximate diameter (27) of the area from which an image is to be obtained is known, the method consists of: a) being provided with a first and a second illuminator (2, 4) which are located at a distance (8) separated from each other which is not less than the at least known approximate diameter (27), such that a distance (25) between the mirror reflections (21, 23) in the structure (3) of transmissive light due to each illuminator (2, 4) is not less than the at least approximate diameter known (27) of the area of the object from which an image is to be obtained; b) the illumination of the area with the first illuminator (2, 4); c) obtaining an image of the area while the first illuminator (2, 4) is on; d) the illumination of the area with a second illuminator (4, 2); e) obtaining an image of the area while the second illuminator (4, 2) is on; f) carry out a check to see if any of the images contain a specular reflection (21) that obscures the area of the object (1); and discard those images which contain a specular reflection (21) that obscures the area of the object (1); where in steps (c) and (e) the image is obtained using a camera (11) that is provided with an image former (15) without overflowing pixels "blooming".
