Abstract: The invention relates to a method of taking a contactless continuous measurement of the moisture of compacted components or the press powder used in the production thereof and using said measurement for the automatic or non-automatic modification of the pressing process, such as to maintain the apparent dry density of the newly-formed ceramic supports constant. The inventive device comprises a sensor (4) which can be used for the contactless continuous measurement of the moisture at which the ceramic component (3) is formed in an industrial press (1). The measurement from the sensor is introduced into a computer (5) which is used to calculate the maximum forming pressure.
