According to the invention, the heating furnace has a combustionchamber (2) and heat accumulating bodies which surround said chamber.Each first heat accumulating body (3, 4; 27) is arranged parallel to therespective wall (5, 6; 24) of the combustion chamber (2) at a first distance.Each second heat accumulating body (12, 14; 25) is also placed parallelto the respective outer side of the first heat accumulating body at a seconddistance. A first air canal (16, 17; 28) is obtained as a result of the firstdistance, and a second air canal (15, 18, 26) is obtained in each of theconfigurations as a result of the second distance. The air in the first aircanal is heated by the walls of the combustion chamber, ascends, cools onthe surrounding heat accumulating bodies and descends downwards in thesecond air canal to the heat accumulating bodies during additional deliveryof heat. Afterwards, the cooled air returns to the first air canal and thedescribed cyclic flow begins again in the inventive heat exchanger.
