Device for pretwisting a bundle of wires or strands in a double-twist stranding or cabling machine

An assembly imparts an initial twist to a bundle of wire strands in a double twist buncher or stranding assembly with two rollers (23) between which the bundle (5') is clamped and secured. The entire roller unit rotates around the bundle axis and imparts a twist to the bundle. In a preferred embodiment the clamping force is enough to compress the bundle. The clamping force is continually adjustable.
