by The present invention advances the racemization process and the optical resolution process in a single integrated two-phase reaction system theory to provide a yield of 100% , while directed to a reaction system in which only optically pure can significantly reduce energy consumption and the use of toxic solvents as compared with the conventional process can be prepared a mandelic acid or a derivative thereof . In a preferred embodiment, the optical resolution reaction and racemization by the combination of the biological catalyst and an organic solvent to induce biological reactions which lead to optical resolution in the two-phase reaction system composed of an aqueous solution of catalyst and racemization occur continuously only optically pure at a high yield and provides an environmentally-friendly biological process system producing mandelic acid or a derivative thereof .
