PURPOSE: A method and a system for remote controlling a client computer of a computer network are provided to make the client computer into a terminal by executing application programs respectively executed on the client computers connected to the network on a server alone and offering a result to the client computer. CONSTITUTION: The server(10) includes a network monitoring part(12), a control authority setting part(13), and an application program controlling part(11). The network monitoring part judges access of the client computers(40-42). The control authority setting part assigns the control information of the client computer previously stored in a database(20) to a manager computer(30) if a client access signal is inputted from the network monitoring part. The application program controlling part executes the corresponding application program by recognizing a request if the client computer requests the execution of the application program stored in the server, and displays the result to the client computer. The client computer includes a remote control unit providing an input signal of an I/O device to the authority control setting part of the server when the client computer is booted.
