The method involves an automatic program and a defrost program. When the defrost program is invoked it feeds a suitably heated and possibly amplified air-flow different from the automatic program settings to the front windscreen, via control electronics for the heating and air-conditioning system. After the defrost program time expires following a previously active automatic program period the subsequent return to the automatic program does not adopt the current interior actual temp. but uses an auxiliary temp. value corresp. to the actual value before the defrost program was invoked for a known period
